Rolleston Cricket Club   COVID 19 Guidelines and Procedures.

As we are all aware COVID 19 has to be taken seriously and as such we ask you all to please follow the guidelines and the clubs safety procedures as closely as possible.
We ask that all players, coaches, officials, volunteers and spectators to ensure that they check for COVID symptoms before setting off from home and arriving at the
club. If you think you may have any of the symptoms please do not come to the club or take part in the game of cricket. You should not leave your home.
On arrival at the club please follow instructions given by RCC personnel regarding parking and site operation, please follow signage and understand your own responsibilities for social distancing.
You should be aware that no changing rooms will be open so you must come in your cricket attire or be prepared to change in your car whilst keeping a level of personal decency. No showering will be allowed.
You should bring your own sanitising products although there will be some supplied by RCC Players only. Opposition Players and Spectators should supply their own.
In wet weather the Players are asked to shelter in their cars as the Clubhouse is reserved for the Spectators.

Breaking news – 10.00p.m. Saturday – DCCL have received this statement from ECB which gives a positive feel about the resumption of cricket:

‘’ECB are extremely heartened by today’s announcement from Government, which supports a meaningful return for recreational cricket in England. It is important that we are aware of all safety protocols that must be adopted to see cricket begin to reopen. Over the coming week, we will seek to understand the specific guidance from Government’s medical teams so that we can provide support for clubs who will be eager to reopen their doors and begin delivering coaching to small groups of players.’’

The Executive Committee of DCCL has a scheduled meeting, using ZOOM, on Monday evening with the major topic now planning the return of cricket and club fixtures in order that as soon as the greenlight is given by the Government and the ECB we can all get back into action.

Whilst many of us consider cricket an essential part of our lives, it is important that we act responsibly to help reduce the risk posed by Coronavirus (COVID-19). With this in mind we regretfully admit that indoor cricket training is a non- essential social gathering. Therefore following the government announcement, advising that all non-essential contact with others should cease, it has been decided that all of our planned indoor cricket training will be cancelled.

This is an ever changing situation and as soon as we receive further information or ECB guidance regarding plans for outdoor training and the season ahead we will let you know. We recognise that these are uncertain times but want you to know that the health and safety of our cricketers and their families is our highest priority.

The advice regarding the importance of good hygiene and being sensible if you or a member of your family start to display symptoms is obviously well documented.

If someone is feeling ill or showing even mild symptoms (as per the government advice) they should remain at home. This would include players and any family members. We would ask everyone to maintain the highest standards of hygiene.

Information relating to the latest government and NHS advice is available via the link below:

If the position outlined by the England & Wales Cricket Board's or UK government regarding groups changes, then we will be back in touch with more news.

Stay safe !
