On an early sunny Sunday afternoon, a crunch match against Burton was looming. With only 4 points the difference, the boys knew a win would definately put them in a good position for the league. However a late call by Chalky meant the boys entered the court with 7 players. But a cheeky call by Elliott brought in an impressive youngster called Kieron.
Another coin toss won and the boys took the ball.
With Chalky missing, Nelly took the 1st over, taking a wicket with his 2nd ball. Vaughany again took 1 with his 1st ball. Browny took 2, and Kieron took 1, finishing a good start for the RCC. Rolleston outdoor player Harry Wood failed to contribute anythin with the bat, getting run out 3 times.
1st skin = 17
2nd skin started well with Marshy taking 2 and Wakey taking 1. However expensive overs by Monkey and Elliott gave the pair a decent score.
2nd skin = 24, Total = 41
3rd skin proved the least successful for RCC as only 1 wicket was taken by Vaughny. Wakey, Kieron and Browny going wicketless.
3rd skin = 25, Total = 66
4th skin was a carbon copy of the 3rd, although 3 wickets were taken, 1 each for Marshy, Elliott and Monkey. Nelly bowled an expensive final over.
4th skin = 25, Total = 91

A mixture of great stops and dropped catches left the boys feeling like Burton had a few more runs than they shold have.
New pair of Monkey and Marshy opened up and got the ball rolling with a solid, wicketless partnership, including 2 5's by Monkey
1st skin = 36
2nd skin, Elliott and pal Kieron, and although Elliott was run out twice, Kieron hit 2 big 7's, knocking up an impressive 32, and putting the boys in a great position
2nd skin = 36, Total = 72
With just 20 needed, Vaughny and Wakey entered and the beginning of a mssive collaspe. Although he has been in good form since making his first appearance, Vaughny completely struggled and couldn't get Wakey on strike, gettin out 3 times in the 1st over, and a further 3 times in the rest of the skin.
3rd skin = -20, Total = 52
With an almost imposible task of getting 40, Browny and Nelly entered knwing there was still a slight chance. And it started off well scoring 19 of the 1st 2 overs. 21 needed and paceman Kashif returned, getting Browny caught and going for 0. With the win gone, the skin was next on the list, but with Nelly getting run out 1st ball, 11 were needed off 6. 3 were scored in th next 4 balls, then Browny hit a lovely 7, leaving Nelly needing just 1 to tie, but taking the skin duee to winning the earlier skin. However a lack of concentration lft him spooning the ball up, and being caught on the final ball, and losing the skin.
4th skin = 19, Total = 71

A very disappointing result as the boys let go of a commanding position, leaving them now 10 points behind Burton. Hopefully the boys will bounce back in their next game, an apply the pressure back onto Burton
