Where did that one come from?
Mick won the toss and elected to bat in a game reduced to 33 overs due to the damp track. Arron Harper (6 overs 0 for 23) and Dan Featherstone (5 overs 1 for 21) was not too disastrous as Duncan Boddy snaffled his first catch from spanners bowling 40 for 1 off 10 overs. Liam Goode (4 overs 0 for 32) and James Parker (10 overs 3 maidens 25 runs for 4 wickets) took the score to 85 for 1 off 18 overs. Fortunately I arrived at this stage and they decided to start playing James got his first wicket with a catch from Nigel Winfield; Mick Acton (7 overs 1 for 40) brought himself on the other end and took a wicket with his 5th ball caught by James, who took his 2nd wicket in the next over with a sharp catch by Liam Goode; 90 for 4 off 21 overs. Next James had a caught and bowled followed by a 2nd catch by Duncan off James’s bowling; 128 for 6 off 29 overs. Sadly Mick was taken to task being hit for 14 in the 30th over. A run out and then 2 wickets for Arron Harper (1 over 2 for 3) including catches from Mick Acton and Duncan’s 3rd meant that we needed 151 off 33 overs to win.
Dan Wildman (3), Duncan Boddy (1), Phil Burrows (3), Henry Parker (1), Nigel Winfield (0), Liam Goode (1) and Dan Featherstone (2) left us with 24 for 8 off 20 overs. Mick Acton (15) still there on 4 when Arron Harper (6) joined hit a six before being caught in the slips. James Parker our Man of the match tried to support Mick and looked disgusted when Mick played all round a straight one. 40 all out. Alrewas 27 points Rolleston 4. Alrewas promoted.
Enough said!!!!.
